Version 7.4.0 of Coupon Affiliates is now available, which introduces brand new “Referral Welcome Popups” along with several significant improvements to the plugins overall speed and performance.

Referral Welcome Popups

Referral Welcome Popups is a customisable notification system that automatically greets customers when they visit your store through an affiliate referral link.

Instead of visitors arriving at your site unaware of their special discount, they’re immediately welcomed with an eye-catching message that highlights the offer they’ve received.

Three Display Modes to Match Your Brand

We understand that every business is different, so we’ve built three distinct display modes:

1. Regular Popup (Center of Screen)

A modal popup that appears in the center of the screen with:

• Customizable icon and messaging
• Visible coupon code with one-click copy button
• Eye-catching call-to-action button
• Smooth animations (fade, slide, or zoom)

2. Bar Notice (Top or Bottom)

A sleek notification bar that displays at the top or bottom of your site:

• Less intrusive than a full popup
• Perfect for users who prefer subtle notifications
• Easy to dismiss or interact with

3. Small Widget (Corner or Side)

A compact, floating widget that sits in any corner or side of your screen:

Clicking it will open a larger widget like this:

• Starts collapsed with a teaser message
• Expands when clicked to show full details
• Can be positioned in 6 different locations
• Vertical rotation for left/right center positions
• Ideal for non-intrusive, persistent messaging

Display Frequency Options

Control exactly when and how often visitors see the popup:

• Once: Show only on the first visit from a referral link
• Every: Display each time the referral URL parameter is present
• Persistent: Keep showing on every page until the visitor applies the coupon or dismisses it

Customisation Options

Make the popup fit your brand with extensive styling options:

• Farben: Customize background, text, button, and overlay colors
• Icons: Choose from 8 professional icons
• Messages: Use dynamic placeholders like {discount}, {coupon_code}, and {affiliate_name}
• Animations: Select from fade, slide, or zoom effects
• Timing: Set custom display delays
• Mobile: Toggle mobile display on/off
• Custom CSS: Add your own styles for pixel-perfect design

The popup also supports dynamic placeholders that create personalised experiences:

• {discount}: Shows the actual discount amount (e.g., “20%” or “$10”)
• {Netzwerk_name}: Displays who referred them
• {coupon_code}: Shows the coupon code

Example message: “{affiliate_name} has gifted you {discount} off your next order.”

This personalization helps build trust and makes the visitor feel valued.

Easy Setup in Minutes

Getting started is simple:

1. Navigieren Sie zu Coupon Affiliates > Settings > Referral Links or the PRO Modules Registerkarte Einstellungen.
2. Find the new Referral Popup section
3. Enable the feature
4. Choose your display type
5. Customize the appearance and message
6. Save and you’re done!

Performance Optimizations

We’ve made significant improvements to the plugin’s performance in this update, particularly for sites with high traffic and large numbers of affiliates.

Here’s what’s been optimised:

Faster Admin Dashboard

The admin dashboard now loads much faster thanks to intelligent caching. Statistics like top affiliates, recent referrals, and program stats are now cached for 1 hour, meaning the dashboard displays almost instantly on subsequent loads. The cache automatically refreshes when new orders come in or when you manually click the “Clear Cache” button.

Smarter Order Calculations

When displaying lists of orders (like on the admin dashboard or reports pages), the plugin now remembers calculations it’s already done during the same page load. This means if the same order appears in multiple places on the page, it only gets calculated once instead of multiple times, dramatically reducing processing time.

Lightning-Fast Notification Bell

The admin notification bell (showing pending registrations, payouts, and tasks) now uses smart caching and optimised database queries. This reduces database load by approximately 95%, making the bell respond almost instantly.

Optimised Affiliate Lists

The Affiliate Users and Coupons admin pages now load significantly faster, especially on sites with thousands of coupons. We’ve optimised the database queries to only fetch exactly what’s needed, rather than loading unnecessary data.

Better Email Newsletter Performance

The affiliate leaderboard feature in email newsletters now uses smarter database queries that only look at affiliate coupons, rather than checking every single coupon on your site. This makes newsletter generation much faster on large sites.

These optimizations work behind the scenes, so you don’t need to configure anything.

Just update the plugin and enjoy the speed boost!

Dark Mode Dashboard

We also added a new “Dark Mode” option to the “Design” settings tab, if you are using the normal “Affiliate Dashboard”.

You can make dark mode an optional toggle, or set it as the default to match your dark theme better.

Payouts Settings on Payouts Tab

Whenever an affiliate has not set their payout settings yet, instead of telling them to go to the settings tab to set their payout details, it will now show the option to set their details directly in the payouts tab, making the process easier for them.
