Celebrating 10 Years of Coupon Affiliates
Today marks a big milestone for Coupon Affiliates.
The first version of the plugin was released 10 years ago. It started as a small tool and has grown into a full affiliate program plugin for WooCommerce.
We wanted to look back at how it all started and, most of all, say thank you to everyone who has been part of it.
How it started
Coupon Affiliates began in 2015 with a simple customer request: a store owner wanted a way to track how their WooCommerce coupons were being used.
That first feature was released as a free plugin on wordpress.org, called “WooCommerce Coupon Usage”.
What happened next was driven by the people using it.
Users started getting in touch with feature requests, and it soon became clear there was demand for a lot more. That feedback led to the PRO version, and it has shaped what we build ever since, one feature at a time.
The biggest step was adding an affiliate dashboard, commission tracking and referral links.
With that update, the plugin got a new name: Coupon Affiliates.
What we care about
Over the past decade, Coupon Affiliates has grown from a single feature into a complete affiliate program plugin, used by thousands of WooCommerce stores.
Our aim hasn’t changed along the way. We want it to be easy for store owners to set up and run, and something they can rely on.
A few things guide how we work:
- Building what customers ask for: most new features start as a request from someone running a real store. If it solves a problem for them, it usually solves it for others too.
- Good support: when something isn’t working, you should get a quick, friendly answer from someone who knows the plugin.
- Staying focused: the plugin keeps changing, but the goal is the same as it was in 2015. We want running a coupon-based affiliate program in WooCommerce to be simple.
