About Coupon Affiliates
Helping WooCommerce stores grow with affiliate coupons since 2015
Coupon Affiliates started as a small plugin built for one store owner. Over ten years later, it’s a complete affiliate plugin used by thousands of WooCommerce stores, made by an independent UK company and still shaped by the people who use it.
- 2015First released on WordPress.org
- 7000+Businesses using the plugin
- 4.9★Average rating on WordPress.org
- UKBased support for free and PRO users
Our story
It started with one customer request
In 2015, a store owner asked for a simple way to see how their WooCommerce coupons were being used. That first feature was released as a free plugin on WordPress.org, called “WooCommerce Coupon Usage”.
More store owners started using it, and the feature requests followed. Many of them wanted to give coupons to affiliates and influencers, and track the sales and commission each one brought in. That feedback led to the PRO version, and it has shaped what we’ve built ever since.
By 2021 the plugin had grown well beyond coupon statistics. It had an affiliate dashboard, commission tracking, payouts and referral links, so it got a new name to match: Coupon Affiliates, along with its own website.
Today it’s still the only affiliate plugin built specifically around coupon codes for WooCommerce. Each affiliate gets their own coupon and referral link, and every sale is tracked inside your own store.

Key updates
Ten years of building, one update at a time
Most of these features started as a request from someone running a real store. Here are some of the biggest moments along the way.
2015
- The first release. “WooCommerce Coupon Usage” launches as a free plugin on WordPress.org, giving store owners usage statistics for their coupons.
- Then came PRO. Over the next few years, feature requests from users lead to a paid PRO version, sold through our partner Freemius, who have been with us from the beginning.
2021
- v4.0A new name and a new website. The plugin becomes Coupon Affiliates, couponaffiliates.com launches, and version 4 adds commission payout tracking, referral URLs and email notifications.
- v4.5Affiliate registration, so people can apply to join your program and get set up automatically once accepted.
- v4.7Lifetime commission, rewarding affiliates for every future order from the customers they refer.
- v4.8Referral campaigns, short URLs, QR codes and click history, followed days later by creatives.

How we work
The same goal as in 2015
The plugin keeps changing, but what we care about hasn’t. We want running a coupon-based affiliate program in WooCommerce to be simple, and something you can rely on.
1
Built from your requests
Most new features start as a request from a real store. If it solves a problem for one store, it usually helps others too. Suggest a feature.
2
Support that knows the plugin
When something isn’t working, you get a quick, friendly answer from people who build the plugin. That’s true for free and PRO users alike.
3
Focused on WooCommerce
Coupon Affiliates is built exclusively for WooCommerce, so it works with the coupons, orders and customers your store already has.
4
Your data stays yours
Everything the plugin creates is stored on your own website. We don’t collect your affiliate program data, and there are no extra platform fees.

The founder
Hi, I’m Elliot Sowersby
I’m a WordPress developer from Yorkshire, United Kingdom, and the founder of RelyWP. I have over 15 years of experience in website development and WordPress, and have been a full-time developer since 2016, helping businesses all around the world design, build and look after their WordPress websites.
I released the first version of this plugin in 2015, after a customer asked me for a way to see how their WooCommerce coupons were being used. Since then, most new features have come from store owners getting in touch with ideas, and that’s how it grew into the plugin it is today.
I still lead the development of Coupon Affiliates. If you have an idea for the plugin, or just want to say hello, I’d love to hear from you.
